The Oppressed Women of Islam!

The Oppressed Women of Islam

Mary – Church Nuns – Muslim Hijab, If we must class the Muslim Women as oppressed then should we consider calling Mary (pbuh) and the Christian’s Nuns also oppressed?

Notice any similarities??? Was Mary (pbuh) Oppressed? Are the Church Nun's Oppressed? If we must class the Muslim Women as oppressed then should we consider calling Mary (pbuh) and the Christian's Nuns also oppressed? NO? Then why the DOUBLE STANDARDS?

NO?
Then why the DOUBLE STANDARDS?

What about women who wear a burkha/Niqab (full face cover) ?

viel-burka-niqabThe short answer to that is that it is not part of Islam. It is derived from culture.

In fact nowhere in the Quran does it state that women must cover their face, it is quite the opposite. This is what it says in the Quran under 24:31:

And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts and do not display their ornaments except what appears thereof, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments except to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women; and let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known; and turn to Allah all of you, O believers! so that you may be successful.

Did you know that Islamic countries have the lowest amount of reported rapes?
the lowest amount of reported rapes
According to Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network in US alone:
  • 44% of victims are under age 18
  • 80% are under age 30
  • Every 2 minutes, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted
  • There is an average of 207,754 victims (age 12 or older)of sexual assault each year
  • 54% of sexual assaults are not reported to the police
  • 97% of rapists will never spend a day in jail
  • Approximately 2/3 of assaults are committed by someone known to the victim
  • 38% of rapists are a friend or acquaintance
Off course many of them go un-reported, but this applies to any country. But the real question is, what causes such a massive difference between the statistics in Islamic countries and others? Let’s observe some facts:
  1. Revealing clothes are a part of western society
  2. The higher the mini skirt the better, more you will attract, women are told It’s all about the looks and showing some flesh, it even helps get a better job or promotion
  3. Most clothing shops do not sell decent clothing, I mean the clothes which do not show some cleavage or some part or the body, unless your walking around in a sweater, in the old days showing much part of the body was classed as indecent, however today it is referred to as fashion.
  4. The majority of so called decent clothing are too tight which shows the full shape of the body, despite being dressed the woman seems naked.
  5. Respect and manners are almost non-existent, children these days are taught how to dress sexy at a very young age and tricks about how to attract the opposite sex.
  6. Children are surrounded by games full of violence, top games are about killing others and how to hurt each other
  7. Almost every top chart song contains some sort of profanity, insults of some kind or sexual references.
Now look at the picture on the here and think….
man - woman
Would this same man have turned to look at this woman had she been dressed decently?
Most would say, it’s parents fault… the answer is YES partially, but how much can parents do when their children are surrounded by a terrible environment? Can parents control what happens outside their house? Such as school, parties, hangout with friends, etc…? The short answer is NO. Whether one likes it or not, Islam offers the solution to this problem.
